The racist thinking and language of Germany's imperialists:
Much of what is discussed or reported regarding Afghanistan is self-serving fiction:
One has a basic idea who the good and the bad guys are in the simple world of savage Afghanistan. "Facts" and story-line are then adjusted to support the naive, primitive and inhuman preconceptions of the imperialist supremacists.
Precision, or shall we say: truth - how many died under what circumstances - is of no concern to DER SPIEGEL ("The Mirror"), Germany's premier news magazine; what counts is the distorting message: High death rate due to "terrorists".
See below, a representative example of the slipshod way in which the German conscience works.
First, however, consider the breathtakingly arrogant attitude behind the dispatch.
Germany is involved in a humanitarian task in Afghanistan, the Germans act as Samaritans courageously helping to arm-twist Afghanistan into adopting the great Western fetish called democracy and to build the sort of nation that we would like that country to be ( - actually, an exceedingly fuzzy helter skelter of preferences which soon reveals its irresponsible nature as one probes into what the Germans really know about Afghanistan or how sound the buzz words are by which we like to convince us once again: Am deutschen Wesen soll die Welt genesen ( - A Nazi slogan meaning roughly: "Expose the world to the the essence of the German character to make the world recover from its ills") - "democracy", militarised foreign aid or - as in the present case - the mathematics of death buttressing imperialist "reasoning".
Terrorist spoilsports - popularly referred to as the Taliban - frustrate the effort, causing violence and deaths.
Afghanistan, a very simple country, about as simple as the political concepts popular in the West, consists of two types of people: the decent kind who deserve to be generously occupied by Western forces, and the scum type, utterly vile people that deserve to be exterminated (after all, they are not understood to be exactly into women's lib), the said Taliban.
As in Iraq, anyone who opposes the unjust occupation of their country is a terrorist - a "partisan" (guerilla), in the language of identical intent used by Germans during WW II - that is why, there are so many of them. Ungrateful lot. Dirty criminals. Shoot 'em. They eat children and, more than anything, strive to nuke the States.
Now let us take a closer look at the "news" reported in DER SPIEGEL, an instance of the constant trickle of inaccuracies that numbs and brain washes the public to support or acquiesce in terrible government crimes:
The article reports that at approx. 5 000, war-related casualties in Afghanistan are up by more than 1 000 compared to last year, according to the news agency AP. At the end of the article, using language suggesting that in the face of 5 000 dead so far this year, the occupying forces ("IASF troops") killed ("im Gegenzug", i.e. "as a reaction to") another 3 500. It appears, however, that the total number of war-related casualties includes those 3 500 killed by IASF soldiers.
If my maths is roughly correct: 3 500 represent 70% of 5 000.
Either those killed by the imperialist aggressors do literally not count, or, equally shocking, the fact that the brunt of the killing (70%) is done by the foreign aggressors is hidden in inconspicuous statistical data, while the readers are being continuously led to believe that the carnage is owing to crazy terrorists rather than an intruder making liberal use of its formidable means of destruction.
In the brief article there is enough space to describe the methods and ploys of the terrorists, and, of course, no description of how IASF forces accomplish their share of the killing. The insinuation is: they are doing a heroic policing job in the face of so much terrorism.
"Dabei haben die Terroristen vor allem Soldaten und Sicherheitskräfte im Visier..." (...the terrorists focus on soldiers and security forces...)
The killing that is not ascribed to the intruding military is summarily blamed on "die Terroristen" - "the terrorists".
The German media and much of German public opinion accepts that he who resists attacks by Western intruders is by definition a terrorist. Little surprise that the number of terrorists has increased massively since we have gone on a war faring spree.
Of course, the public is not told that if you start unjust wars you will face deadly resistance, and it is not told either that the chance of becoming the victim of a terrorist attack (as usually conceived, i.e. not resistance action against a foreign aggressor) is a lot less lower than that of being struck by lightening in, say, New York or Berlin. A lot less.
We do have a terrorism problem, a huge one, and it is entirely self-inflicted by the West.
